Pandemic Panic
It has been a while since I wrote a blog, while the world has gone into a complete hysteria about the pandemic, I cannot say the same.
I bet you read that in shock but there is a reason behind it, I have lived in self-quarantine with extra precautions for many years now off and on. The only part of this pandemic that affected my life negatively was my children not being able to go to school. They love and thrive in school, honestly, it is the only place outside of the home that they like to go to for long periods of time. I know most parents feel the opposite due to their child getting a break from the pressures of school or the opportunities to be bullied have decreased. However, that does not address the issue nor heal a child’s torment. If anything this time away from school is a better opportunity to tackle the bullying issues and then start fresh when the schools reopen.
I worry about all the time kids have to spend on the internet that now are vulnerable to cyberbullying and bigger platforms of rumors being spread. Social distancing is good for physical health but does not always benefit mental health.
